I read a group of three short one act plays and a full length by my dear friend Matthew Edwards this past week. I have this strange, lingering feeling that I also read something else that I can’t remember. I really enjoyed reading these plays, but I have noticed how few monologues I’ve managed to accrue to date. I have a few more plays that I’ve purchased to chug through (finishing Sarah Kane this week, for example) and then I need to really get down to business on filling up my list of monologues, which has been woefully neglected for the past 1/2 year. Maybe I’ll get my energy up for that once I’m reading plays with monologue potential again.
I have also been collecting new audition songs and while I will not divulge my secrets as far as what I will be singing (you’ve got to make your own discoveries!) I will say a huge thank you to rental cars with Sirius XM – On Broadway is station 72 – and the occasional blast of whatever is the local Clear Channel pop/rock radio station. There’s nothing like being inspired by something someone is already doing frightfully well. Eeek!
